He was born in Mobile County in 1955, raised on the family farm, has lived his entire life in District 102 and is a graduate of Mary G. Montgomery High School.

Senator Williams has been married to his wife, Bobbie, for 40 years and together own and operate the J Bar W farm where they raise cattle, timber, and hay.  They actively support 4-H.

In 1986, Senator Williams started Twin Oaks Nursery in Wilmer and in 2004 purchased Tom Dodd Nurseries in Semmes.  His son John now owns and operates those businesses.
